AN IRIS, A ROSE, A TULIP AND MORE by SUGIURA

Kazutoshi Sugiura (1938- ) has created his own very distinct and popular style in the art of silkscreen printing. All of his work realistically depict various flowers, in particular the iris. A world-renowned artist who started his artistic journey with the study of traditional Japanese style painting, he is famous for his bold and beautiful flowers set against a rich, gold-leaf background which has become the hallmark of his art. This is achieved through a complex process of silkscreen techniques. His designs have an immediate appeal and are timeless, elegant and serene.
