Scenes from the Noh Theater: Ronin Gallery is pleased to present 45 woodblock prints depicting scenes from the Noh Theater by Kogyo (1869-1927) and his followers. Noh Theater is a traditional aristocratic form of Japanese performing arts that is considered more refined than the popular Kabuki Theater. Unlike most classical ukiyo-e these prints have a unique almost painterly quality and use much gold, silver and lacquer embellishments. They are literally tout-de-forces of printing and required very skill engravers and printers to produce. They have been specially selected and priced for the Internet from $60 to $450.
