KABUKI PORTRAITS BY Toyokuni III and Hiroshige: The Ronin Gallery is pleased to present 20 prints from the series Famous Restaurants in the Eastern Capitol. This series portrays various Kabuki actor portraits designed by Toyokuni III. The upper cartouche on each print is a landscape and/or still life designed by Hiroshige. The series dates to 1852, a time when both Hiroshige and Toyokuni III (asa Kunisada) were at the height of their popularity with the Edo public. The two artists worked together on a number of series and well known triptych where Toyokuni would design the figures and Hiroshige the landscapes. The prints have been specially priced for the internet from $100 to $300.
