HIROSHIGE—Famous Views of the 60-odd Provinces In the annals of ukiyo-e there is one name above all others that evokes the haunting, lyrical beauty of the Japanese landscape, HIROSHIGE. The Ronin Gallery is pleased to present a special exhibition of 24 woodblock prints from his The Famous Views of the 60-odd Provinces, designed and printed between 1853-1856. This series is considered to be among Hiroshige’s finest work and was the first monumental set illustrating all of the provinces of Japan from Tohoku in the Northeast to Kyushu in the Southwest. Suffused with a vibrancy of color, the prints render the seasonal variety of nature in all its breathtaking splendor.
